About us
Bitnode Labs is a startup based in the European Union (EU) at the Vinalab Knowledge Center, and was recently founded in 2022 by founder Jesus M. Gimeno, with the goal of developing innovative products and services for Bitcoin users.
Our young startup has achieved its first milestone, bringing to market the flagship project Bitnode Box, an all-in-one solution to make it easier for people to run Bitcoin and Lightning Network nodes, along with the best Bitcoin wallets.
Our Mission
Bitcoin full nodes play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the Bitcoin network, as they validate every block by verifying all transaction signatures, then relaying them to further full nodes and other lightweight clients. It also enables Bitcoin's layer-2 blockchain protocols, such as the Lightning Network.
We know it can be difficult for non-tech people to start running a Bitcoin full node, that's why we set out to provide an easy, affordable, and reliable all-in-one solution. Bitnode Box integrates all the hardware requirements and standard software applications you need into a single device.
Our Vision
The inception of Bitcoin and blockchain technology over the past decade, as a fully decentralized, permissionless, and trustless monetary network, has led to a new financial paradigm that challenges the current centralized banking system.
Looking forward, it is our aim to continue promoting the Bitcoin adoption through decentralization and individual sovereignty by enabling people to run their own full nodes, as growing part of the worldwide Bitcoin and Lightning Network.
